Welcome to the official home page of the new independent percussion ensemble, River City Rhythm.

RCR is a non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)3 percussion ensemble based in central Minnesota open to youth up to the age of 22.  We will be competing both in the MPA and WGI winter circuits. Our goal is to create a positive experience while helping our members enhance their music, marching, and performance skills while getting the chance to either continue their career beyond high school, or meet new people who share their enthusiasm for music or percussion, or both.  We want to be able to give this excellent and unique opportunity to those in the central Minnesota community as we recognize there are a lot of skilled drummers, percussionists, and musicians in the area!

River City Rhythm ties for 6th Place at WGI Percussion Independent A Finals

River City Rhythm ties for 6th Place in the WGI Percussion Independent A Championships in Dayton, OH on April 16th.  Michael Reed of WGI summed up RCR’s performance in his review of the PIA Finals:

“River City Rhythm (MN) (T-6th- 87.50) showed how much can happen in a short time with “ In Five Minutes”. The numeral ‘5’ was a consistent visual motif, appearing on the floor and on the unit’s costumes. Narration provided interesting facts about our nation and world such as the number of emails sent globally every five minutes, or the amount the U.S. national debt will increase. While change is constant, one thing that remained unchanged was the high performance level of the group throughout the entire show.”

River City Rhythm is providing a fundraising opportunity for current and potential members for next winter’s season

And what better way to do it that than to be outside selling concessions at a Twins game??

you would be able to march RCR for free! Enlist your parents or friends to work with you and all it will take is a couple of weekends (2-3 games per weekend) to make enough to cover your fees for next year.

In our inaugural season, RCR won the MPA Independent A Class Championship, capping off a highly successfully year in which we placed first at every competition in which we participated!
